Exploring an area of interest....

We love to organise our environs each day to entice children to be involved in learning.... and we love it when our families partner with us by providing us with props. Here's a recent set up to support our children who were wondering about their body..... we provided manipulative props and puzzles that allowed them to explore what organs are under the skin..... reference books, and a lovely felt life size model with removeable organs provided by one of our treasured Kuia. Thanks so much! We've had a lot of fun with this so far! The digital clip running alongside this to support this work allowed us to explore our dancing and singing sides of our exploration too..... do you remember the ' Skeleton Dance' Song? ' the head bone is connected to the neck bone'..........

Hikoi Ngahere

Our group of bushwalking children this week did some spectacular research... finding out where A Ruru spends his time sleeping, and observing a Piwawaka having a bath. We love connecting with our local tūrangawaewae and finding out about the land, and the wonderful wildlife that is all around us in Northland....... This is why bushwalking is part of our Kindergarten's curriculum........

Morena Whānau!  The downgrading of the COVID level to level 1 meant we could re introduce dough and clay to the experiences we offer daily.. and our tamariki greeted both media with open arms and joy!  We've been busy in the art space recently with a lot of collage, print making and painting too...... Here's but a few examples.....
