Leo came home yesterday asking me if I knew what potae meant. I did and we try & practice words in sign language and Maori. There's a great app (NZSL) which gives all 3 languages which is handy when I can barely speak English, haha. He seems to be particularly interested in Maori words the moment anyway and keen to make a poi! Great to see lots of bicultural aspects incorporated into the curriculum :) Fiona
We are using a lot of te reo Māori.... and doing a lot of kapa haka and legend work too...... It's great that you can support our programme and children's learning in this area... did he make a poi? I'd love to see it in action!
